Format of Play

The 2008 SCAGA Four Ball will be contested exactly like 2007.  Teams will compete in Four Ball Stroke Play over 54 holes to determine a champion in each flight.

The Championship flight will compete from the back tees and in gross stroke play.

The President's flight will compete from the blue tees and in gross stroke play.

The Net Flights will compete from blue or white tees depending on flight number and will compete in net stroke play.

Partners must have handicaps within 10 strokes of one another to compete in the Net Flights.

Practice Rounds

Practice Rounds will be available on the 14th and 15th of May at a reduced rate of $25 per player (cart not included).  Minimum of 2 Four Ball participants per group required to receive discounted rate and tee times can be made up to one week in advance.  To schedule your practice round please phone the Santa Ana Golf Shop at 505 867-3000.

SCAGA Tournament Conditions

ELECTRONIC MEASURING DEVICES

The use of Electronic Measuring Devices (EMDs) is permissible in all SCAGA Championships provided the only information they provide is distance information between points.  (no slope, wind or non-distance information)

REFUNDS

Players may receive a refund provided they give notice of withdrawal from the championship prior to the entry deadline for each event.  In the event of a refund, the SCAGA will charge a $25 processing fee, NO EXCEPTIONS.

MEMBERSHIP

All players must be active members of the Sun Country Amateur Golf Association in order to participate.

GOLF CARTS

Unless otherwise noted, the SCAGA allows competitors the choice to ride or walk during championships.  Cart fees are the PLAYER'S RESPONSIBILITY and are payable to the golf shop at each golf course.

STARTING TIME

The starter will not page players in advance of their starting time.  Failure to start on time is disqualification.  However, it is a condition of this Championships that, if a player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within 5 minutes of his starting time, the failure to report on time will result in a two stroke penalty assessed on the first hole instead of disqualification (Rule 6-3).

ATTIRE AND CONDUCT

Players must be properly attired on the golf course, in the club house and on the grounds.  Trousers or Bermuda length shorts are generally acceptable for SCAGA events.  Jeans, T-Shirts, and tank tops are especially prohibited.  Objectionable conduct reported to the committee during or after an event can be cause for penalty or disqualification or action under Rule 33-7 and may jeopardize a player's status for eligibility for future SCAGA events.  Objectionable conduce including, but not limited to, foul language, throwing clubs, discourtesy to the course or officials, or any conduct unbecoming a golfer.
